The Western Educational Adventure Society believes that thoughtfully designed and well-delivered outdoor education helps youth build confidence, independence, and a lasting connection to the natural world. Our programs encourage problem-solving, teamwork, and personal growth while promoting environmental stewardship and community well-being. Through our partnership with Western Educational Adventures Incorporated (WEA), we fund and support exceptional outdoor programs that get young people outside—canoeing, kayaking, hiking, and exploring Vancouver Island. These experiences foster resilience, leadership, and a love of adventure that lasts a lifetime. At WEAS, we believe every child deserves access to high-quality outdoor education, regardless of financial background. With the help of sponsors and community partners, we provide funding and subsidies so that more youth can experience the transformative power of the outdoors. Whether on the water, in the forest, or along the trail, our mission remains the same: to help youth learn, grow, and reconnect—with nature, with each other, and with themselves.
